The return of Erykah Badu

its been like 4 yrs or so since ive really put together a piece of erykah badu
(you can find that piece here) ive done a few sketches here and there but
not any fully fleshed out pieces until this once right here

ive sat with the piece for about 7-8 months tinkering with it
tweaking it here and there. i had to let it go, i had to or i wouldve went crazy
artists are truly their own worst enemies lol

Week Two- Amber Rose

Last week finished Amy Winehouse, thes week, Amber Rose.

i've trying my hand at secondary light a little bit

Im trying to create harmony between vibrant skin tones and backgrounds,

i dont really want the backgrounds to overpower the subject.

Color harmony can be crazy sometimes.

Anyways, week three portrait is on the way, the sketch is done!

Bentley

Lately my art has been doing everything i want it to do. I just seems like its flowing the way it should, less errors more success. A Bentley that i was commissioned to do. I never really took the time to draw a vehicle, the fine detail was so time consuming but im glad i have it under my belt ive been stepping out of my confront zone with my art lately. I wouldnt mind having one of those bad boys though...in due time i suppose lol

Mixtape Cover i created over the summer for a client, It was done in about three days, considering that i work 2 jobs it came out ok. I definitely tip my hat to mixtape cover artists

its definitely not as easy as it looks, more on the way

but think about this....we only have 24 hrs in a day

subtract 8 for sleep

subtract 8 for work

subract 2-4 hours for whatever bs life throws at you

(car breaking down, cousins recital, etc, etc)

how many hours does that leave for us to follow our dreams?

yeah 24 hours is not enough
